Amble Park Pediatric Clinic

Project Scope

Second Year Graduate Design Studio focusing on Community, Well-being & Healthcare

Centered around the families that build communities, Amble Park creates open care paths via narrative medicine. Inspired by the designs of landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted and his belief that access to green spaces has healing qualities by building a sense of community- Amble Park is designed to facilitate care through conversation and biophilic design elements.

The design of the pediatric clinic is rooted in qualitative research conducted through a series of interviews with healthcare subject matter experts and parental users of pediatric clinics. The research informed my spatial design choice to create a care facility built for the practice of narrative medicine.

“ Narrative Medicine is a commitment to understanding patients’ lives, caring for the caregivers, and giving voice to the suffering.”
